Standard depth for mulching is 3".

1 bag = 3 cu ft

Example:
   Length of area = 10 ft
   Width of area = 12 ft
   Depth of mulch desired = 3 inches (0.25 ft)

   10 x 12 x .25 = 30 cubic feet

 then you would order 10 bags
